{from Discord} Hello @everyone ! 👋 We are thrilled to share more details with you today about the upcoming release of V8. 🔹 V8 MENGER Here's a recap of its main characteristics and the new features it introduces: - Diardi V2: This new version will bring forward 32 notary miners that will ensure the network's security and decentralization. - Multi proof-of-work: Introducing our new in-house algorithm called "Felidae", which is much lighter and faster. More information here: - New block rewards implementation: The block rewards will follow an eroding curve - similar to what other popular projects like Monero do - that will ensure the network's long-term sustainability. Read more about it: 🔹 IMPORTANT DATES We will officially release the new version of our executables on August 14, 2023. This means you can start using the new applications to mine, send, and receive XLA from that date onward. We will allow our community one month to transition to this new release. Exchanges and mining pools must also switch to the V8 daemons and applications during this period. The team will contact them to make sure they update everything and assist them if they have questions. 🔹 FAQ - Is v8 a hardfork? Yes. This means that you will need to install the new executables to access the network. - Do I need to create a new wallet? No, you can use the same wallet addresses and seed words to access your coins. - What happens if I don't install the new executables during the transition period? Nothing special. You won't lose access to your wallet or coins, but you will need to install the new executables to access the network again.
